An American Success Story
By age 16, Kevin VanErt, Jr. had begun his lifelong career and one of the area's most successful small businesses, even though he didn't know it at the time.
Kevin started VanErt’s Lawn Service in 1997. In that first summer, the teenager mowed 40 lawns per week all by himself. As his customer list grew, Kevin recruited his sister and school friends to help with the work.
With plans to study engineering in college, Kevin decided to keep his lawn service running for one more year to earn additional money for school. But, before he knew it, four years had passed and his summer job had grown into a legitimate operation; from a single push mower to several riding mowers, a trailer, employees and a pair of pick-up trucks. He could see that the company's potential outweighed the value of attending college.
Decades of Commitment
Over the next few years, landscaping became Kevin's passion. To this day, he loves working outdoors, creating unique and beautiful spaces for people.
Then, after collaborating with local churches and Samaritan’s Purse to help with several natural disaster projects, Kevin and his crew started pursuing more construction work, hardscapes and home repair work.
Today, VanErt's provides commercial and residential services all over Lenawee County, Michigan, including concrete shed pads, walks and driveways; composite and wood decks; plus, retaining walls, brick patios, building demolition, excavation, snow removal, landscaping design / installation and much more. We've earned the trust of hundreds of clients, as well as a solid reputation for dependable work and lasting value.

In the Service of the Lord
As a Christian, Kevin gives all the glory to Jesus Christ. Ultimately, he says, everything we do affects our heavenly Father. Having established a strong set of values for his foundation, Kevin says that the Lord has blessed his endeavors and helped him through difficult times. "Every day has been a blessing from the Lord," he says.
